A transport company with history!

History

Taxi de Koster is originally a family business with a rich history that goes way back. In 1889 grandfather de Koster was born, who first offered paid rides with an automobile, a T-Ford, in 1910. With this car, he provided rides across the island, such as to the ferry docks. It also carried sick people to Goes.
Around 1918, a line bus service was started on North Beveland, using small coaches. These line buses didn’t only transport passengers, but also distributed the mail. In the 1950s, the company had three buses for group transportation of workmen, tour trips, day trips and personnel transportation to the Hero in Breda, where many Bevelanders worked at the time.
In 1962, Otto de Koster’s father took over the business and Otto had been the owner since 1993. In 2017, his son Jordy de Koster joined the business.

Acquisition

In 2022, the company was acquired by another family business, run by the second generation and based in Walcheren: Taxi Livo. Brothers Danny and Jordy de Vos have taken over all business activities, resources and drivers in totality and decided to continue the company under the name Taxi de Koster. This allows Bevelanders to continue to order their cab under the familiar name and they are assured of high quality transportation provided by the same trusted drivers of Taxi de Koster.
